...Thanks!

We all have someone very special in our lives.  My someone Very Special is my Best Friend and Husband of 36+ years!  He is definitely my Rock and knows just what to say and when to say it to make me feel very special.

We have gone through some stressed times over the past year with caring for my Father, as a lot of you have read in my blog.  I love Dad, but my Husband will be the one standing beside me in the end and his support is ever so special to me.

Today's card is for my Dear Hubby.  I have taken the sketch from Case This Sketch for my inspiration.
This is a very clean and simple sketch I was able to use up scraps from my stash.  Kind of like cleaning up loose ends.
Using the watermarks from French Foliage I stamped in Old Olive and Tangerine Tango.  Then with the Beautiful Wings Sizzlet I cut out three of the smaller butterflies.  Edged the DSP with the Old Olive to give it a little more punch.

For the inside I used the sentiment from Rue Des Fleurs and combined the two.

Thanks for being there.  Love you with All My Heart!  Ace!

Thanks for stopping by.

Showers of Happiness

I had a special request from a co-worker for a shower card so here is my attempt at a quick and easy card.

Starting with a piece of CS that I had used to cut out one of the Labels Five Nestabilities I used the other half of the cut out as my card front.  This is adhered to a piece pink DSP.  The umbrella image from Rue Des Fleur was stamped onto the DSP and then I stamped a second image on a piece of white CS.  Then I cut out the top portion of the umbrella and popped it up with dimensionals.  The different points of the umbrella ends were accented with jewels and the handle was accented with a small bow.
The sentiment was stamped using my Stamp-a-ma-jig.  I stamped the "happiness" first and then centred my "wishing you" ver the centre of that.

Simple and quick.

Hope you enjoy.

TST #66 Write Me a Song

Jen has been at it again with another great sketch for Try Stampin on Tuesday. Her sketches just get better and better each week.

When I looked at the sketch I knew right away I wanted to do an antique looking torn bottom on the one layer of the card so I decided to go with my Composer's Dream stamp and start with that.

The next thing I had to determine was what I wanted my top stamped piece to be.  I had just recently picked up Rue Des Fleurs and decided to run with that. I tried several different angles and mounting backgrounds before I ended up with the Curly Label punch and a straight pen. I accented the pen marks with two small pearls and then following along with odd numbers I added three more to the bottom instead of a sentiment.

Since I had stamped the pen a couple of times I ended up cutting out one of them and used it on the inside of the card.

I hope you like what I have come up with. Now it's your turn.  Show us what you can do.
