Cardabiliities #64

Well the last of my Cardabilities cards is here and I have loved working with these great girls.  The talent is spectacular and I would look at their work and think, what am I doing here.  But none the less I enjoyed every minute.
Today's sketch boggled my mind for a long time, but when push came to shove I decided to go with something a little more simple looking, but it still worked for the sketch.

I used the snowflake embossing folder that I love and used a wooden snowflake shim to only emboss a small area of the card.  I was hoping that the embossing would come out more like the wooden piece that I had, but it didn't.

I hope that you will take the time to check out the other designers at Cardabilities, and while you are there don't forget to leave your take on the sketch.

Hope you enjoy.

TST #94

Oh the possibilities.  That is what I thought when I saw the sketch for this weeks Try Stampin on Tuesday.
I decided to make this card in honour of my very own Christmas tree this year.  Each year for the past few years I have changed up my tree with different colours.  I have an all gold tree, blue and silver tree and this year I went with what I thought would be a Mardi Gras theme.  However my daughter says it looks more like a Whoville tree! - purple, blue and green!  So this is my inspiration for my card.

I hope that you like what I have come up with, now it's your turn.  If you need a little more inspiration then hop on over to the Try Stampin site and see what the other designers have in store for you.  You will not be disappointed.

Thanks for stopping by.

Your comments put a smile on my face, each and every time I see one.  Thanks to each and every one of your that took the time to leave a comment and also thanks to all that became followers of my blog.

TST #93

Tuesday and time once again for Try Stampin on Tuesday.  Being a little short on time with my work schedule( yes that dreaded FOUR letter word) this weeks sketch was a quick Sunday night do or die card.  I combined it once again with the colour challenge over at Dynamic Duos.

I love this shade of blue that is called Marina Mist.

I hope you enjoy what I have come up with now just on over to Try Stampin and see what the other great designers have in store for you.  Don't forget to post your version of the sketch.  Can't wait to see what you have come up with.

Cardabilities #63 Let It Snow

This time on Cardabilities I decided to go with a Christmas card since the season is rapidly approaching and time to get those cards in the mail.  As soon as I saw the sketch it screamed snowflakes so that's what I went with.
This one I blinged up a little more than I would usually do, but it will be hand delivered to a very special person.
For all those out there wondering and asking if the Cuttlebug will accept Bigz dies, this one is from Stampin Up along with the Northern Flakes die and I have never had a problem using them.

I hope you like what I have come up with.

TST #92

It's Tuesday again so time to take part in the Try Stampin on Tuesday challenge.  This week CherylAnn has given us not only a sketch to work with but to add the colour Red into the card somehow.  So with that in mind I searched out Dynamic Duos and their challenge was to use the colours Sahara Sand and Cherry Cobbler. Perfect!

I actually started out using a different stamp set, until I realized that Paula Reid from our group had used the same one, so off to the drawing board to find another alternative.  I know I probably could have used the same set, but I really felt that the cards looked too much alike.  Clockworks to the rescue.

Even though this card has a little bit of ribbon on it I really do think that it could be used as either a masculine or feminine card.  What do you think?

Hope you like what I have come up with.  Now it's your turn.  Hope on over to Try Stampin on Tuesday and lets see what you come up with.  Don't forget your RED!

Triple Easel Christmas Card

Today is a catch up day for Stampin Fun & Friends, along with a new challenge.  This challenge indicated that you must use red, green and craft colours, along with any neutrals.  So with that in mind I decided to incorporate another colour challenge over at Dynamic Duos.  Mynnette from Mynnette's Technique Tuesday also saw my card and invited me to join her site this week as well.  Thanks Mynnette.
This triple easel card has been on my to-do list for some time now and with the help of a tutorial from Tanya Bell, it has finally come to life.

Although this one took a long time to make I liked how it turned out and next time I have more of an idea how to put it together MUCH quicker.

Hope you like what I have come up with.  Give this great card fold a try for yourself.

thanks...For All You Do...

Today I have a recreation of a card that was demonstrated through the Cards...Cards...Cards... session over at Stampin Fun and Friends.  The original was designed by Kris McIntosh.

I created my version of the card for my husband.  I wanted to use colours not associated with fall, but I also love the French Foliage stamp set so I decided to combine, Marina Mist and Concord Crush.  The technique used was a form of masking.  My husband has been my Rock these days and without him I really don't know where I would get my strength.  So, Thanks...For all you do!
I took the wording from the stamp set For All You Do and recreated it using my Word program on the computer.  I needed it to be larger than that of the actual stamp set and this allowed me to use the wording and the sizing that I wanted.
I hope you like what I have come up with.  You can still join the group at Stampin Fun and Friends.  Just click on the link to the right of my blog.

Thanks for stopping by.

Try Stampin on Tuesday #91

It's Tuesday and time once again for Try Stampin on Tuesday.  It's been rather rainy and cold around my parts the past couple of weeks and would just love to see a little more sunshine, but fall has definitely arrived and just around the corner there is that dreaded "S" word...yes folks snow.
So with the "S" word in mind I thought I would combine my take on this card with Canada'a #1 coffee shop and make a gift card holder.  Not just any gift card holder, but a buckle gift card holder.
I also decided because I was so late in making my card this week to combine it with another challenge over at 2 Sisters.  There challenge this week was to use pastel colours.

Either way I hope that the "S" word does not happen too soon, but if it does I know that the recipient of this gift card will certainly enjoy their warm cup of their choice.

I hope you like what I have come up with.  Now it's your turn.  Head on over to TSOT or 2 Sisters and join in on the fun.  I know the designers at TSOT have some great ideas to share with you.
