Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone.  I hope that each and everyone of you have someone special to celebrate this special day with.

For me, I have to say that just about every day is Valentine's Day for me because I am married to my best friend.  He makes every day special.

Today I have two cards for you.  The first is a simple card that I made for Stampin Fun and Friends.  This is a spiral pop-up card.  For most pop-up cards the spiral portion is made with a circle cut round and round.  To go along with the Valentine's theme I decided to take a heart and make it into a spiral giving the spiral a little more character.

The second of my Valentine's cards for Stampin Fun and Friends is again a spiral card but with even more depth and character.  This one has a double spiral that becomes a 3D heart when the card opens.
So no mater who you are with today I wish you a very Happy Valentine's Day and may your Heart be Content.

Thanks for dropping by.

Purple & Blue..a Butterfly for You!

So today's card has been combined with colour challenges over at Late Night Stampers challenge 209 which is a blue theme and then by adding just a touch of purple I was able to add it into another challenge over at Sketchy Colors.  This is the first time for Sketchy Colors.

The big thing about this post is that it is a recreation of a tutorial over at Stampin Fun & Friends, Sweet Sentiments.  Robbie Rubala has given us excellent instructions on making a spinner card.
Along with the card is a template and instructions on actually making a box with a heart embellishment on the top.  I changed it out to accommodate the butterfly from the card.

You will notice that the papers I used today were the same papers as I used for my challenge card yesterday, trying to use up scraps as I work.

In order to make the butterfly look more 3D I cut out three from the DSP and a 4th one from the blue CS that I used as a base.  Folding two of the butterflies in half and then gluing them to the base butterfly and the top butterfly.  Very easy to do and makes an impact on the total look.

I hope that you will take the time to join us at Stampin Fun and Friends, we still have the whole month of February left to play.

Thanks for stopping by.

SFF: You've Got Mail....

As mentioned yesterday Stampin Fun and Friends "Sweet Sentiments" is underway and our first sketch challenge is up.
http://api.ning.com/files/TdIQzJmQRtwskBtAO*v-X7GOEH3F517cUxbRDMIEic155o1TMnxT*w5uhe4oXp0v7jGlXI-GqTQiBOTp*CEN12QH7d1n0XdZ/TSTSketch63.jpg
I wanted to combine it with another challenge which would incorporate colour but the colours I had in mind didn't materialize so I just decided to go with my own colour combination.  I found a piece of DSP that I liked the colours in so that was my starting point.  Then I found the coordinating CS to with the purple and blue DSP.  Next came the stamp set.  I decided to go with Postage Due.

Using Whisper White as my card base I cut a piece of Marina Mist that was 1/8th" smaller.  Then using Concord Crush I punched out the trim piece and decided to put trim on both sides of the DSP.

Once I had the front done I stamped using Concord Crush the card base with the Postage Due set.  Once that was done I placed the piece of Marina Mist CS on top using dimensionals to raise it up, giving it a slight shadow box effect.  Stamped out my 2cent stamp and punched it out using the postage stamp punch, which was then adhered directly to the front piece.  I added 3 small gems to the upper left to balance the stamp out.

I was very happy with the end result.  Unfortunately the picture does not reflect the beauty of the true colours.

Hope you like what I have come up with.  You to can join Stampin Fun and Friends by clicking on the PayPal link to the right of my blog.  We still have lots in store for you.

Stampin Fun and Friends...Are You Ready?

Stampin Fun and Friends "Sweet Sentiments" is up and running.  We would love to have you join us.  Just click on the PayPal tab at the side of my blog to join in on the fun.

The first Sketch Challenge is up and ready for you to try it out, along with the first tutorial.  The first tutorial was provided by myself.  It gives complete instructions for a Double Wiper Card.
This card was a great one to make and I love the non-traditional Valentines colours.  It could even be used as an Anniversary card (which I plan to do).  You could make it a single wiper, but I wanted to suspend the floating hearts between the wipers, thus I ended up with a double wiper.

Want to see more.  You will have to join us, but if this hasn't encouraged you then look what else I have in store to entice you.....

Just a teaser!.....

Hope you like what I have for you and what is also in store for you.

Looking forward to seeing you join us.

Thanks for stopping by.

First Mother's Day

Today I have another project from Stampin Fun and Friends.  This is one that I created especially for that New Mom.  Full details on both the card and the project are available by signing up at Stampin Fun and Friends at the side.  We still have lots to show you so don't wait any longer.
I have given both a card suited from a Baby Boy or a Baby Girl.  The picture frame inserts can be changed to suit a Baby Girl.  The one I made was for a Baby Boy's Mom.

I hope you enjoy.

Tea Anyone?

So Stampin Fun and Friends is well underway and today I have a recreation of a project presented by Tanya Bell.  Tanya makes the most amazing exploding boxes and she has given us a template for a tea pot.

I know that black and white is unusual for a china tea pot but this card will be going to someone with black and white dishes so it works.  I have added a little butterfly to the top of the carnations for that little something extra.

You still have time to join in on the fun at Stampin Fun and Friends, just go to the link at the side to sign up.  You will be able to get all of the project PDF's that have already been posted, plus the coming ones.  There are currently two more challenges going on and I hear they may be a video or two of techniques as well to come.

Hope you enjoy.

Stampin Fun & Friends Colour Challenge

Stampin Fun and Friends has started and we are into our first colour challenge.

It you haven't signed up yet we are only on Day 1 and you will still be able to take part. In fact our first chat is this evening at 9 PM, so get going. Just click the link to the right side of my blog to join in on the fun!

I decided to try a Flip Card. There have been lots of these posted lately on different sites. I followed the instructions on Dawn Griffith's site.

Once I had the card base and opening cut I used the same sized die to cut two pieces of the pink and then two of the white.  They were adhered to the opening hinge and stamped again with the sentiments.

Using Composer's Dream stamp I stamped the background image on both the left and right side of the card.  As luck would have it when the card is closed the music follows right along the card as if it was printed on the paper itself.  Then I sponged using the same colour all around the page.

For the inside of the flip I used "Outlined Occasions" and stamped over the die cut piece and then put a plain white centre to write my greeting.

Yellow accents were used by placing a pin with yellow beads through a white organza ribbon.

Don't forget your envelop.  By stamping on the outside of the envelop as well it gives the person receiving the card a hint as to what is on the inside, plus they will surely know who it is from.

Fun challenge, now it's your turn.

Hope you enjoy!

Mr. Vroom Vroom & His Pals to the Rescue

Meet Mr. Vroom Vroom.  He is a Diaper Bike and another of my projects for Stampin Fun and Friends.

The most obvious diaper creations these days are tiered cakes, but both my son and his wife are avid motorcyclists and join in on lots of Charity Rides.  For this reason, plus I was certain they were having a Boy, I decided to make a motorbike cake.

Along with Mr. Vroom Vroom his friends are stopping by to help the new Mom and Dad with "Baby Sitter Rescue Coupons".  These coupons are to be used in exchange for Baby Sitting services, as if they really need to ask!  But if funds are tight for a baby shower gift it makes a great idea and everyone is happy!

So if I haven't convinced you yet to join in on the fun over at Stampin Fun and Friends you need to check out a few of the other designers blots to see what they have come up with.

Hope you enjoy!

Getting Organized

Before Oraganizations Began

If you haven't joined in on the fun over at Stampin Fun and Friends you're missing the great projects and tutorials along with the friendly chats this past two weeks.  One of my tutorials was this one, which believe me the picture of my office desk before I started is accurate.    Included in the projects were a Desk Pad, Storage Box, Note Pad Holder and a Binder to keep project designs or bills in.  If you like what you see here consider joining in next time.

After Organization

Believe it or not I have also been able to keep my office working space clean and organized since coming up with these projects.

Martha Stewart eat your heart out!

Hope you enjoy...see you at the next Stampin Fun and Friends get together!

Colour Challenge at Stampin Fun and Friends

Stampin Fun and Friends has offered another challenge.  This time it is a colour challenge.  The colours offered I did not have on hand so I had to improvise and used as close to the ones that were in the challenge.

http://api.ning.com/files/g5daTo6THGMExGzJ*sBT*DC3xDC*cKrf1nt8KeuPMETNf7dyoVGMGxJI5pTTie8wjICKDOFbj9PygU7rRowO46f5wqycacmq/ColorSFF001.jpg

To add a little dimension to the hearts I stamped over the cardstock used with the same colours using the I (Heart) Hearts stamp set and then sponged the edges.  The largest heart was free cut and stamped with a musical notes stamp.

When the card is opened the hearts are free floating on the front and then show across the entire card.

Hope you enjoy!

SFF Remake Wine and Chocolate

I hope that you have taken the time to visit us over at Stampin Fun and Friends.  Here is another of our projects done my way.

This is a remake of one done by Tanya Bell.  Her's included a little different kind of sweet, but we enjoy chocolate with our wine so I incorporated that into my project.

This would make a great hostess gift at your next get together.

Cheers!

Inspiration Challenge Stampin Fun and Friends

If you are not part of the great group it's time to get on over and give us a try.  Stampin Fun and Friends is just starting it's Sweet Spring Session and we would love to see you there.  Just follow the link and you are just a few steps closer to meeting new friends and getting instructions for new projects daily.

Stampin Fun and Friends Link

This was the first Challenge of this session.  It was an Inspiration Challenge.  The picture presented was that of a bunny on a bed of hay surrounded by colourful eggs.  I chose to go with the colours in the picture rather than the picture itself.  The choice is yours.

Hope you enjoy!  See you at Stampin Fun and Friends

Picture? or Picture Frame?

My first post is one that comes from being a Guest Designer on Stampin Fun and Friends - Christmas Dreams Session.

My contribution to the Christmas Dreams was the Thank You Card.  This thank you card has a little bit of a twist to it.  It can either just be a thank you or you can add a photo and make it a photo frame that can be used over and over.

I encourage you to check out Stampin Fun and Friends.  You never know where your next inspiration will come from.  We have lots to share with you.  Try the challenges and don't forget the chats.  I have made some great new friends from Australia, New Zealand and of course the USA.  I'm certain you will enjoy their work as well.   Sign up now for our next session "Sweet Spring" starting in February.  See you there.
