I hope that everyone had a Very Merry Christmas and you are looking forward to the New Year. I know we had a great Christmas here with our new Grandson opening up lots of presents, mainly for him. As usual though the paper and boxes were more impressive than the gift at that age.
This week I needed a Birthday card for a co-worker so that is what I decided to do for the sketch.
When I first saw this sketch I had so many ideas in my head, but then when I started I was stuck because of the colour combination that I had picked. You see the person this card is for is a girly-girl and I wanted it to be soft and "girly" looking. However I didn't quite have the right shade of pink to go with the DSP that I had chosen so I had to compromise and combine red and pink together to get my balance.
Instead of a bow I went with a pin/bead embellishment and then accented the smaller circle with pearls which also mimicked the pearls on either end of the pin.
The colours did not show up as nicely as they are in living colour but I was none the less happy with the final outcome.
As a final note for today I would like to wish everyone the best for a Safe and Happy New Year!
Thanks for stopping by during this hectic time of year.
Nancy
