TST #62 Congratulations Sam and Doug!

Todays Try Stampin on Tuesday card is in honour of my Daughters friend Samantha and her now Fiance Doug.  They have been going together now since the end of high school and this past weekend finally made it official.

When I was putting together the card I asked my Daughter what stamp set I should use.  I gave her a variety of options and she went with the "Congratulations" from the Sprinkled Expressions.  She said it was so much like Doug - "He Finally Did It!".

Congratulations Sam and Doug.  We are all very happy for you!

Picture Inspired

I had seen a picture in a store and loved the way it was mounted in layers in the frame.  I couldn't wait to get home to give it a try and this is what I came up with.

First I needed a center point, Fleur de Lis to the rescue.  Then using the Spellbinder Nestabilities Label Five I cut out three layers.  The layers that I cut out I saved and used on the inside of the card.

Then I had problems with the bottom of the card.  I loved the top and got stuck on the bottom.  Then I thought if I had the right lace it might work.  So I used a strip of the paper that I had used for the top cut outs and after it was punched I ran it through the crimper twice to break up the fibers and make it more pliable.  Sticky strip was used to adhere the paper lace to the bottom and topped it off with a satin ribbon.

Getting Organized

Before Oraganizations Began

If you haven't joined in on the fun over at Stampin Fun and Friends you're missing the great projects and tutorials along with the friendly chats this past two weeks.  One of my tutorials was this one, which believe me the picture of my office desk before I started is accurate.    Included in the projects were a Desk Pad, Storage Box, Note Pad Holder and a Binder to keep project designs or bills in.  If you like what you see here consider joining in next time.

After Organization

Believe it or not I have also been able to keep my office working space clean and organized since coming up with these projects.

TST#51

This week at Try Stampin on Tuesday we had a square card.

I don't do many square cards even though I do like the appearance of them.  I just find it harder to get envelops to fit them.

Maybe that should be MY next challenge, making envelops to fit the cards!

I wanted a vintage look to the card so I went with the MS Double Scallop Punch.  I love this punch, but it can sometimes be a bother to use if your paper cuts are not just right.  Once I added the medallion on the front of the card I knew that the bow had to be more of a Winner's Ribbon style of bow.

In the end I didn't end up with quite the vintage look that I was going for but I was quite happy with the outcome of the card.

TST#45

Here is another challenge from Try Stampin on Tuesday.

I have once again tried to take a simple card and make it special by changing the opening.

First I punched out the border using the MS Double Scallop Punch.  The scoring at 1 1/4" and again at 5 1/2" for the base of the card.

Securing a strip of accent CS on the scalloped side measuring 1 1/2" x 5 1/2".  Punch out a decorative piece to place just under the scallops, but making sure that there is enough of a space to allow the right side of the card to fold between the two pieces.

Using the SU Decorative Strip Join In the Cheer I only cut out the word "Joy" then adhered it to the decorative piece on the front of the card.

Randomly stamp snowflakes on the right side of the card front.

The card will close by placing the right side of the card between the decorative punched piece and the left side of the card.
