TST #80

As promised I am back this week taking part in Try Stampin on Tuesday.  For the sketch this week I wanted to try something a little different and then I needed two cards for two different co-workers who are off to University in a couple of weeks, so I decided to use this sketch for their cards.

I decided to try and make the cards more personal to them, even though they will be going to universities in the same city.  Once is going to Carlton University and the other to University of Ottawa.

Both cards started by using map.google to locate and print out the location of the university.  This was then printed onto CS and cut down as a layered base on the card front.  Then using the "Go Confidently..." stamp from Word Play I stamped it onto Whisper White and then a different version of "Go Confidently..." for the other card.  One of the cards is for a girl and the other a boy.

I hope you like what I have come up with.  Now hop on over and see what the other designers have in store for you.  You will not be disappointed.

Thanks for dropping by.

Nancy

Get Well Sharon

As we get older, our body begins to talk back to us and a dear friend of mine will be undergoing knee surgery this week, so this card was made with her in mind to cheer her up.  I thought using a nice bright colour it would bring a smile to her face.

I have been experimenting with bow making and the bow here was made with a salad tong.  Haven't quite got the hang of it just yet, but it will come in time.

I know she will enjoy this card and smile whenever she sees it.

Hope you enjoy!

Christmas Traditions #3

Getting Ready for Christmas Breakfast: The Place Card

The first of my table embellishments is the place card/holder.  Using the Decorative Label Punch as the base and the Ornament Punch onto which I have placed the name of the person for the setting.  Use dimensionals to raise the ornament from the decorative label.  You need to raise it to make it easier to weave it on the fork.  The snowflake is then glued on and a little bling is added for that extra sparkle.

To place it on the fork weave the side that has been raised with the dimensionals on the fork.  Clean simple, but a little different for a different touch to your holiday table.

Hope you enjoy!
