Let's Celebrate

Mojo Monday had a sketch challenge this week, that was very much like a card that I had made a few years ago.

I dug through my photo archive and found that picture (the yellow card).  I think when I made this card the squares were 1".

Then I decided to recreate that same card over again and this is what I came up with this time.

This is a fun and quick card to make, the only issue is figuring out your square size.  Mine is 1 1/4" square.  So of the two cards which one do you like best?

Hope you enjoy this card.

I like to hear what you think, so please leave me a comment.

Pink Birthday Wishes

Going through my emails today I came across a Challenge over at
Joan's Garden Challenge #7.  The Challenge had a few must haves in it:

Create a card with lots of layers
Colour theme should be Pink and White
Add some dimensional flowers
Use a rectangle and an oval layer

This is what I came up with.  Although the flowers show as purple they actually are more pink but photographed differently.

I'm sure either way the lucky person this Birthday Card is going to will not even know the difference.

Happy Birthday!

Hope you enjoy!

TST #54 Gerber Daisy

This week at Try Sampin on Tuesday I decided to take the sketch challenge and make a happy spring card using Daisies #2 die from Stampin Up.

The strips behind the flower are done using Old Olive cardstock and are stamped using the French Foliage stamp set, punched on the edge using a Lace Scalloped Edge Punch then run through a crimper. Behind the flower is accented with a decorative flourish.  I decided not to put a sentiment on the card until I am ready to use it.

Now it is your turn.  Stop by and show us what you can do!

Hope you enjoy!

May All Your WISHES come True!

So I have another co-workers Birthday coming up.  This particular person is not a frilly or over the top kind of gal so I decided to go with something plain yet a little fancy.  The flower is made from a combination of Fun Flowers Die and Daisies #2 die.  The stem of the flower is stamped omitting the smaller wording and using them as the leaves.

I know she will be pleased.

Hope you enjoy!

TST #47

This week on Try Stampin on Tuesday's the challenge was very similar to the card I had just made for a co-worker, so I decided to repeat it to fit the sketch challenge background.

Using Whisper White as the base of the card I scored it at 2 1/8 from either side to make a centre opening card.

Cherry Cobbler was the accent colour used along with Love Letter DSP from my MDS program to make the rosette.  I love how you can print your own DSP's with this program.   Some say that the colours are not true to form unless you have a good printer, but really unless you know exactly what the original looked like who would really know! I have an Hp and it works just great for me.  Daisies #2 die was used again to make an accent on top of the rosette, and birthday wishes were stamped using the Happiest Birthday Wishes stamp set.
Very Vintage wheel was used on a piece of Whisper White and cut to size for the left side panel.

Don't forget you envelops.  They are a very important part of your card as well!

Hope you enjoy!

Happy New Year & a New Card

First of all I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year.  The time comes and goes so fast.  So have you made your New Years Resolutions?  or better still are you still on track or have you broken them  already?  Mine is to try and use what craft products I have on hand before I run out and buy more.

January is a busy month for me with lots of birthdays at work so this first card is one for a co-worker.

Using Whisper White as the base of the card I had a few scraps (New Years Resolution at work) of Basic Black so I used them to make the "ribbon" in the back ground and then used the Daisies #2 Die to add an accent in front of the rosette, finished it off with a swirl from the Sizzix Decorative Flourishes set.  Stamp set used was Happiest Birthday Wishes.  It still looked a little blaw so I spritzed it with the spritzing tool.

Hope you like!
