TST #111

It's Tuesday and time once again for Try Stampin on Tuesday.  Mynnette has come up once again with a fabulous sketch challenge for us.
I had a lot of fun while in Florida picking up new supplies and on todays card I get to play with one of the Spellbinder dies that I picked up "Labels Thirteen".  Even managed to pick it up on Clearance...bonus!
This card had a home before it was even started.  You see it was made for Rob, my Daughters Boyfriend.

There was actually a mistake made with the sentiment, but the mistake ended up to be the side that was used.  You see I wanted to stamp around the outside of the CS and leave the centre free to stamp my greeting, but forgot to put the mast piece down.  I placed the stamp on the CS and before fulling pressing down I realized I had forgot the mask.  I quickly pulled it off but the ink had already started to stamp onto the piece, so I turned it over and tried it again.  This is what I ended up with.
Once I looked at the colours and the way it looked I thought hmmm the mistake actually looked better so I went with that.  I added a little bakers twine and brads to finish off the front.

I hope you like what I have come up with.  Need a little more inspiration for your card, hop on over to see what our great Design Team have in store for you.

Thanks for stopping by.

TST#110 Last of the Green

I promise this will  be the last of the green cards for this month.  As I stated earlier this month March is just a Green month, but enough already.

Mynnette has given us another great sketch to work with this week over at Try Stampin on Tuesday and I know that there will be endless possibilities for this one.
As soon as I saw this sketch I thought Girlie-Girl card.  Ribbon, lace, etc so that is what I decided to go with.

I didn't have any lace on me but I did have a die from Spellbinders called Lattice and I decided to go with that.  I layered the die onto the DSP and cut it out.  Then using the Labels Five I die cut one that was just a slightly big bigger that the opening that I had created.  This would be used to mount the DSP which I had already cut onto.

After getting my bow just right, which rarely happens I added a little more bling with beads.  I used wire instead of pins to mount the beads to.

I hope that you like what I have come up with.  Now it's your turn.  Hop on over to Try Stampin and see what the other great Designers have in store for you.  I'm sure you will have endless possibilities.

Thanks for stopping by.

TST#109 I Sea it's your Birthday!

Yes...Sea!  I am really having a lot of fun experimenting with this stamp set.  If you take the time you not only end up with the shells stamped, but you can sculpt them to give them a more realistic look...even if the colours are out of this world.

Today at Try Stampin on Tuesday Mynnette has provided us with another great sketch.
I actually started out thinking flowers, just like the sketch, but ended up going with the shells from By the Seashore.

This is the colour that we have been waking up to most mornings.  I say most mornings, because with the last week or so we have had some terrible storms and the gulf has been brown because the waters have been so stirred up.

Once you have stamped the shells use a sharp tool, I used my piercing tool and start to shape your shells.  I also added a little bit of shadow on the shells as well to give them more character.

I hope you like what I have come up with, now its your turn.  Need a little more inspiration?  Hop on over to the Try Stampin site and see what the other great Designers have in store for you.

Thanks for stopping by.

TST#108

March is here and Green is the colour.  I know it's not St. Patty's Day but March has always been known as a green month to me.

Today at Try Stampin on Tuesday Mynnette has provided out sketch for the week.
So with green on my mind I came up with this idea.
I know that the colours look more like aqua or blue but trust me they are green.  I think it is the exposure on my camera these days that is giving me a problem.  Also I am taking the pictures away from my regular photo spot because I don't have it available.  I also added a splash of yellow to go along with the challenge over at The Dynamic Duos.
I decided to also use a leaf stamp set because hopefully just around the corner those buds will be showing and we then now that warmer weather and spring/summer is on its way.

Now hop on over to the Try Stampin site and see what the other great designers have in store for you.  I have managed to get a sneak peak and I trust you their creations are great.

Did you get inspired enough?  Now it's your turn.  Try the sketch and post your creation for all of us to see on the Try Stampin site.

Thanks for stopping by.
